Applications

Application and selection
The total number of participants, including organizers, lecturers and students is limited to 100, in a ratio of students versus lecturers up to 5:1 to facilitate interactions. The target audience are young scientists at the post-doctoral level and advanced PhD students, but applications from senior scientists with experience in different areas of aging are also welcome.
Selection will be mostly on the basis of CVs and submitted abstracts, but representation of different topics at the event, and career stage, geographical distribution and gender balance may also be taken into consideration. 
How to apply
By the deadline of  February 29th, 2020:
1. Complete a registration order through the registration/abstract submission portal on this event website. When you complete an order you will receive an 'order received e-mail' with full instructions on how to proceed with your application and a copy of the order in PDF.
2. During this process, upload a single pdf file containing all supporting documents for your application. 
a. for postdocs and PhD students,  the name and address of your lab head/supervisor and letter of recommendation
b. a summary of your reasons for applying to the event and your research interests (max 300 words)
c. a concise CV (max 2 pages)
d. for applicants for FEBS Youth Travel Fund awards, your Constituent Society membership proof, age, ID and proof of status.

3. Submit your abstract via the 'My abstract' tab in the registration/abstract portal [abstract submission is optional but recommended for selection to the course and networking at the event, and is mandatory for application for travel grants]. See the Abstract section of the  website for more details.
Notification
All the applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of March 2020. Accepted applicants must then pay the registration fee by the deadline specified in the outcome notification (those awarded with a meeting bursary are exempted from the registration fee). More details on registration fee payment will be included in your outcome notification, and key points are also given in the terms and conditions.

Those submitting applications after the deadline will be notified of the outcome within two weeks of their submission date. Applications will be considered until the start of the event (25 May 2020), subject to availability.
Registration fees
The standard registration fee of 625 EUR (including VAT) includes access to all scientific program sessions, name badge, pencil/notebook, nametag, certificate of attendance, and 5-nights’ accommodation at Spetses hotel in shared occupancy (double or triple room), all meals and social program. Meals/refreshments covered by the registration fee are breakfasts, lunches, dinners, including welcome reception and special dinner, and coffee breaks. Travel costs are not covered.
Personal expenses such as mini-bar, telephone, etc. are not included in the registration fee. Any such costs shall be at the applicant's expense.
Registration fee for participants who demand single-room accommodation is 840 EUR (including VAT).

Terms and Conditions

By registering for the event, participants (also referred to as 'you') are entering an agreement with the Course Organizer(s), and you are indicating acceptance to the terms and conditions set out below.

Registration Fee

The registration Fee for participants covers:

  • Access to all scientific programme sessions
  • Meals and refreshments as set out above
  • Accommodation at Spetses hotel, as set out on the Venue/Accommodation page
  • Name badge, printed materials and certificate of attendance
  • Invitation to social events

Please note that all registration fees include VAT. Travel costs are not covered by the registration fee.

Methods of Payment

Payments must be made by bank transfer; details will be included in your outcome notification email. 

Bank charges are the responsibility of the participant and should be paid at source. Your Name, Surname and Order ID must be indicated on the transaction receipt of the bank transfer.

Following the payment, receipt of the transaction must be sent via email to info@antiaging2020.febsevents.org

Proof of payment must be received before the stated deadline

A confirmation notification will be sent to you when organizers receive the fund and confirm your registration in the system. If you do not receive confirmation within 5 business days after sending your proof of payment / receipt of transaction, please contact info@antiaging2020.febsevents.org

Registration cancellation & refund policy

All registration cancellation requests should be sent to info@antiaging2020.febsevents.org in writing, with the subject stated as “Cancellation request”. For cancellation requests received on or before 1 April 2020, the full payment, less bank charges, will be refunded; for cancellation requests received on and after 1 April 2019, the full amount will be charged and no refunds will be made. No cash refunds will be made for the credit card payments in the case of cancellation.

Travel insurance

You should seek and follow the advice of your government before registering and booking travel for the event and before travelling to the event. You are solely responsible for making your own appropriate travel and other insurance arrangements before booking travel for the Congress.

Participants are also responsible for their own health insurance.

Modification and cancellation of the event

The Course Organizers reserve the right to modify the event programme, which is published as an indication only.

In the event of cancellation of the event, at any time, as a result of events outside of the reasonable control of the Course Organizers, including (but not limited to) natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire or closure of airports, the registration fee shall be refunded by the Course Organizers but neither the Course Organizers nor FEBS shall be held liable for any other costs or losses incurred.

Disclaimer

The Course Organizers take all reasonable care in making arrangements. They act only as agents in securing hotels, transport and travel services, and shall in no event be liable for acts or omissions in the event of injury, damage, loss, accident delay or irregularity of any kind whatsoever during arrangements organized through contractors. Hotel and transportation services are subject to the terms and conditions under which they are offered to the general public.

In the absence of any negligence or other breach of duty by the Course Organizers or FEBS, these parties shall not be responsible for any bodily injury, death or property damages (including theft) sustained by participants during the event.

In any event, neither the Course Organizers nor FEBS accept liability for damages or costs in the event of bodily injury, death, property damage, disruption to travel plans and costs incurred as a result of events outside of the reasonable control of the Congress Organizers or FEBS, including (but not limited to) natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire or closure of airports.

Governing law

Any legal dispute resulting from the accepted terms and conditions will be subject to the law of Serbia.
